911 Center
911 Center
Lawrence County Public Safety manages the County 911 Dispatch Operations Center. Lawrence County currently employees full-time and part-time telecommunicators. Each shift has a supervisor and is overseen by the 9-1-1 Deputy Director.
All public safety telecommunicators and supervisors have completed the Counties training program outlined by the emergency medical dispatch to provide pre-arrival instructions on emergency medical calls.
What to expect when you call 9-1-1:
- When you call 9-1-1, an Operator will ask you the following questions:
- Location of your emergency
- Do you need police, fire, EMS
- They will instruct you what to do next based off the type of emergency
- Please be patient as they take your information as they relay it to the necessary agencies to assist you.
Text to 9-1-1:
- Wireless customers in Lawrence County can send a short message service (sms) text message to a 9-1-1 dispatcher from a mobile phone or device.
